Since moving house, I have been overjoyed that we finally have a space to create a dining area. As much as I enjoy curling up on the sofa with a bite whilst watching Netflix, there have been so many clothing casualties from a stray baked bean or spoonful of spaghetti missing my mouth. I couldn’t wait to bid farewell to the dinner tray and create a candlelit area to tuck in and reflect on the day.
There are still a few finishing touches to add but I am so happy with this space and I am eager to show it off to friends at our housewarming party. What do you think?

Here I am again babbling on about cost effective DIY projects and this time it’s the turn of the magazine rack/vinyl holder. I am particularly proud of this one because I feel that the finished product could happily mingle with fancy homewares in the likes of Anthropologie, Oliver Bonas and West Elm, it would totally fit in. In fact, I’m just going to throw it out there that this is my favourite DIY project to date.

That way I can create something more personal like my favourite lyrics, a quote that inspires me or even something basic like ‘Welcome’.
That’s the beauty of DIY; you see something inspiring and then you put your own spin on it. If you were to create your own wire sign, what would it say?

Ever since I created my decoupage table it has become a beautiful centre piece in our living room. Believe it or not the original table I purchased for this D.I.Y only cost me £5! It was originally meant to be £10 but I fluttered my eyelashes and pointed out a large scratch along the surface. So always try to barter when purchasing second hand furniture, because you never know- you could bag a complete bargain. An added bonus was that I could use the pennies I had saved to buy some floral craft paper from Paperchase for my chosen design.
