Las Vegas- The Fremont Experience

I love American people they are always so animated even in their 9 to 5 roles they seem so cheery, trying to flog club tickets and getting shunned by passers-by. I loved dipping into conversations from street sellers “Excuse me sir, is this your girl? No?! Why the hell not! I see sexy, a whole lotta sex-ay” but my favourite character of all was our bus driver.

Wire Signs DIY

I’m an avid user of Pinterest and after stumbling upon wire signs on a pin board I immediately fell in love.

I was directed to the Anthropologie website where unfortunately they were completely out of stock. My jaw dropped and for a moment I was gutted but then I thought why not give it a go myself. That way I can create something more personal like my favourite lyrics, a quote that inspires me or even something basic like ‘Welcome’.

That’s the beauty of DIY; you see something inspiring and then you put your own spin on it. If you were to create your own wire sign, what would it say?

The Selfie.

I imagine that this is often how it pans out when attempting to take a self portrait.

  1. You comb your mop and put some lippy on.
  2. You take photos until your arm aches.
  3. You look over the 100 plus photos that you have taken and realise that they all look vile.
  4. You wish that your T-Rex like arms would transform into Mr Tickle’s.
  5. You give up and start to stalk celebrities on Google images, cursing them for looking so ruddy good!

I’ve been there. And I understand how sometimes Facebook likes on your new profile picture can be a real pick me up.

So, I couldn’t resist getting my Guinea Pigs Oreo and Hershey involved to give you some tips on how to take better selfies. ( I’m no expert but even if these pointers reduce the time you will spend with your arm shaking in the air by a fraction then I will be chuffed.)

How to Decoupage a Vintage Table.

dc3

Ever since I created my decoupage table it has become a beautiful centre piece in our living room. Believe it or not the original table I purchased for this D.I.Y only cost me £5! It was originally meant to be £10 but I fluttered my eyelashes and pointed out a large scratch along the surface. So always try to barter when purchasing second hand furniture, because you never know- you could bag a complete bargain. An added bonus was that I could use the pennies I had saved to buy some floral craft paper from Paperchase for my chosen design.

Rental Sweet Rental

To be frank, rented spaces can be annoying and I for one cannot wait to get my own place. I can’t wait to splash a bit of colour on the walls and hang a picture without the worry of filling in puncture holes. However, having said that I also love how the limitations of my rental allow me to think outside the box and be creative with my decorations.

Here are a few little touches that have made my rented space seem a lot more inviting and somewhere that I feel proud to call home.
