Adding another level to your dressing table with a cake stand is a creative way to give the illusion of space, making it appear less cluttered.  I like to keep my perfumes within arm’s reach so that if I’m running late, I can quickly spritz myself before running out the door. I am also a huge fan of Marc Jacobs perfume bottles, the floral toppers are so beautiful I love to show them off.

This trinket dish has a special place in my heart because it used to belong to my Grandma, the floral details and gold edging  on the plate give my dressing table a French feel which teams up nicely with the ‘ooh la la’ wire sign I made to hang above the mirror.  Displaying items of sentimental value make this more than just a space to store your bits and bobs – it adds a personal touch too.

Acrylic storage boxes are a simple and stylish way to keep all of your makeup essentials together. You may have noticed people going mad for these on Pinterest and Instagram, find yours at MUJI.

I have also used storage jars to keep my collection of bobbles and hair clips under control saving my hoover from a great deal of misery.

If you’re anything like me you will have a stash of hundreds of nail varnishes with a shade for every occasion. This plant pot from Ikea is the perfect storage solution; there are also smaller sizes available that are the ideal size to store makeup brushes.

So there you have it, a few simple ways to revamp your dressing table and make your morning routine that little bit easier. Do you have your own styling tips? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
