3 Chic Books For Your Coffee Table

Some books were destined for far greater things than hanging around on dusty book shelves; they deserve to take a centre stage – on the coffee table.

Displaying beautiful book covers can make your living area feel more vibrant but they also serve a greater purpose too. Coffee table books are perfect for entertaining as they capture your interests and spark conversation with house guests.

Vintage cocktail books, books that teach you how to be Parisian and reimagined book covers from childhood classics, there are so many offerings you’re spoilt for choice.

Read on to discover my recommendations of three chic books that are bound to make your eyes pop.

Big Magic – Elizabeth Gilbert

“Your own reasons to make art are reason enough. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart” – Elizabeth Gilbert

Big Magic has been a real game changer for me. During the creative process, I have always been my biggest critique and no matter how many times people have praised my work, I haven’t been able to see past its flaws.

Elizabeth Gilbert explores how we must be courageous to embark on a creative adventure with her open letter to fear:

“There’s plenty of room in this vehicle for all of us, so make yourself at home, but understand this: Creativity and I are the only ones who will be making any decisions along the way…”

“Dude, you’re not even allowed to touch the radio. But above all else, my dear old familiar friend, you are absolutely forbidden to drive.”

This segment demonstrates how to eliminate self-doubt by accepting that fear will be ever present but we must remain in control.

Big Magic is a stunning book worthy for display on your coffee table, it’s also the perfect source of inspiration and motivation – something you will want to keep within arm’s reach.

Breakfast Morning, Noon & Night – Fern Green

I don’t know about you, but this book instantly makes me feel sunny side up, just one look at it makes me want to sing “How do you like your eggs in the morning?” at the top of my lungs.

The stunning pinstriped cover reminds me of bed and breakfast stays by the sea but when you turn the page. Oh. My. Goodness. Glossy images of healthy and zesty breakfasts send my stomach into a rumbling frenzy, I want it all. From cinnamon toast with blackberry compote to eggs benedict this book is jam packed with mouth-watering recipes to kick-start your day.

Love, Tanya – Tanya Burr

I wish I had a role model like vlogger Tanya Burr when I was a teen, then maybe I would have bypassed the bright blue eye shadow and back combed birds nest phase (insert peace sign here).

Love, Tanya not only teaches you how to achieve flawless skin, but also how to grow in confidence and achieve happiness. I think the best thing about this book is Tanya’s honesty, she doesn’t sugar coat her glamorous lifestyle she opens up about her struggles and how she has overcome them.

It’s a beautiful read filled with anecdotes, recipes, beauty pointers and advice, something you can easily dip in and out of whilst sipping your morning cuppa.

  1. I have two of these books and you’re right that they make great decorative pieces. I think ‘Love, Style, Life’ makes a great coffee table book as well.
